Park Benches are Important.

So this song that I am sharing with you today paints a picture in my mind. And that picture is of a guy sitting alone on a park bench arms resting up on the back of the bench. Then this track starts, and he starts nodding his head in one direction, and then the other direction to the beat of the music, confidently eyeing up any girl who happens to be walking by, looking suave as can be. And with any luck soon some girl will sit down for a wonderful park-bench make out session. Sounds awesome right?

The track described above is by The XX who are an indie-pop band from the UK. Their tracks feature both male and female vocals and it is a really solid album from start to finish. In 2009 they release their first studio album titled XX, and VCR was one of their singles. Matthew Dear's remix is what is responsible for giving it that real slick sitting-alone-on-park-bench-nodding-at-the-ladies groove. I've also included the four tet remix, which is a bit drawn out, but is still a nice track.

I'm a sucker for Love.

I'm not much of a hip-hop fan, but every style of music has it's place, and it seems there's a few tracks in every genre that I totally dig. Tupac's "Do For Love" has always been a favorite of mine with it's addictive chorus and emotionally charged lyrics. Recently I've discovered a few nu-disco remixes of hip-hop tracks and the result is fresh and generally quite good. So as you can guess I was stoked when I found a remix of this track, and even more stoked when it put a smile on my face and got me bouncing on my couch. Check this cute little groove.

Gold Panda

Gold Panda is a relatively new producers from the U.K. Last year he released his debut full length record titled Lucky Shiner. With a sound similar to Caribou he created a gorgeous album from start to finish. The album seems to hold that fine line between relaxing but not overly chilled out, yet with enough percussion to be smooth and flowing, but never energetic. This album also holds that great quality of each track being unique yet all closely intertwined. You could listen to this album on many different occassions and for me drinking tea at 9am as I wait for the sunny but cold day on the mountain to give me one more call is the perfect time.

Paris sounds good to me.

I can't say I know much about Paris. I've never been, and I don't really have any desire to. I do know however, that Paris is for one reason or another a popular word used in the naming of tracks, and a high quality of tracks at that. So if Paris is as awesome as the tracks which feature the city's name in their titles then I best be going.

Below you will be treated to a dance floor destroyer by MSTRKRFT, a smooth eclectic track from Mylo, a chilled but weirdish track from Rufus, and warm and lovely track with great vocals from Friendly Fires remixed by Aeroplane. As a bonus (and I wouldn't include it if it wasn't good, I'm not trying to trick you into listening to bad music) the Paris remix of none other than Eiffel 65's Blue giving it some funk. Give it a try and enjoy the sounds of Paris.

Feeling Good.

Feeling good is one of my favorite things to do. I'm feeling good right now. And in the photo above I am also feeling good. Perhaps it is because I am cuddling such a nice soft teddy bear. I can't say for sure. I also can't say for sure what makes a track more "feel good" than others. But today as I was riding the peak 2 peak gondola heading over to meet up with my romantic valentine's date Miss Blackcomb (full of face shots), a track came on my ipod that I had never heard before, and I can definitely say it's a feel good track. Check it out if you don't believe me. The track is called "You Can Dance" by Chilly Gonzales, and its the Fare Soldi gonzobot Remix.

And as a bonus, respecting teddy bears across the world, I'm leaving you one of my favorite tracks by The Teddy Bears called "Different Sound", a groovy indie-dance track.
