Get down with Aretha!

Aretha Franklin's "Rock Steady" was first released in 1971. Then you take that track, chop up some powerful black lady vocals, throw in some funky-ass womping breaks and you have a serious party-rocking track.

And while we are on the topic of party-rocking breaks, Fort Knox Five has just released a free download from their website. It's titled "The Sax Pusher", and yes there is plenty of sax with some dude throwing down some fun party rhymes that make you wanna jump up and get down. Don't miss this one! And more importantly for those in Whistler, don't miss Fort Knox 5 on April 15 as they kick start the afternoon concert series for the Telus festival. I plan to get off the hill, throw off my jacket, sip on some fireball, and shake it as these guys rock the warm spring afternoon. See you there.
